JOYÀ - CIRQUE DU SOLEIL THEATER AT VIDANTA RESORT, RIVIERA MAYA, QROO, MEXICO

This most recent chapter in Josh's career is a story of perseverance, patience and triumph despite difficult circumstances.  Josh was lucky enough to complete his training and integration at "JOYA" and perform in the show for just 2 weeks before the Global Pandemic forced the show to close in late March, 2020.  Living in a beautiful jungle beach resort near the popular tourist city of Cancun in the Mexican Caribbean,  Josh decided to stay put and wait to continue his musical dream, despite the new founded global uncertainty.

Josh used his time during the national quarantine to study remotely & learn the skills required as the back-up band leader. Then in October, at the beginning of the 7th season of the show, he took the chance to step up to the position of Principal band leader.  During 2020, having lived through two tropical storms, two hurricanes (including one evacuation), on top of the raging global pandemic forcing the show to close twice, 2020 has been a year for Josh of choosing to see life from a perspective of the glass being “half full”.  Following strict new government and company health & safety protocols, “JOYA” has been open again since November 2020 performing 5 nights a week.
